RE: fyi: European Demand for DNT

All -

I think that Aleecia's suggestion to gather information on use and potential outcomes has merit. It would be good to be able to show that - if the charter is extended/recreated, there will be a need/use for the spec. I'll be happy to act as the advocate for such a meeting (A BoF table or meeting after regularly scheduled activities) at TPAC. The only thing that I ask is that the meeting work towards an outcome, and not serve as a bully pulpit for an opinion. As I've often said, a standard only gains credibility when it is implemented on a scale that impacts the market.

+1 to postponing the charter decision pending more information / real world outcomes.
I think that is wise and has minimal cost.

I would call in to TPAC, if possible. I cannot attend in person.

(We also talked of a hackathon. I have a meeting tomorrow that will help me understand the level of pain involved to throw one.)

I thought you were going to assemble the major European players at TPAC (since it is in Lisbon, so they will be there already) and use that meeting to assess the common understanding of the need for DNT. Your comment above ("I may visit TPAC") sounds like the idea of a major discussion in TPAC has been dropped. Do I understand correctly?
