Re: 608 samples

That's not the spec. You need the CEA-608E document, which can be obtained
for $300 here<http://global.ihs.com/doc_detail.cfm?currency_code=USD&customer_id=21254020200A&oshid=21254020200A&shopping_cart_id=21254020200A&rid=Z56&input_doc_number=CEA%20608&mid=5280&input_doc_number=CEA%20608&country_code=US&lang_code=ENGL&item_s_key=00414677&item_key_date=910831&input_doc_number=CEA%20608&input_doc_title=>.
Also a "CEA DTVCC SET", containing the 608 and 708 specs along with test
bit streams on a DVD, can be obtained for $505
here<http://global.ihs.com/search_res.cfm?currency_code=USD&customer_id=21254020200A&oshid=21254020200A&shopping_cart_id=21254020200A&rid=Z56&input_doc_number=CEA%20608&mid=5280&input_doc_number=CEA%20608&country_code=US&lang_code=ENGL>
.
