Summary of TAG activity from 1st February to 30 April 2006

This is a summary of the TAG's activity from 1st February 2006 (end date
of the previous summary[1]) to 30 April 2006.

1. Meetings

   During this period the TAG held nine teleconferences and one face-to-face
   meeting:

   *  27 Feb & 3 Mar 2006 in Mandelieu, France, during the Technical
      Plenary week.

   Agendas for these meetings are available in TAG public email archive[2].
   Minutes are linked from the TAG's home page[3].

2. Issues

   All TAG issues are detailed in the issues list[4].

   During the reporting period the TAG accepted a new issue:

   *  passwordsInTheClear-52[5]: Sending passwords in the clear.

   Two issues were resolved:

   *  putMediaType-38[6]: Relation of HTTP PUT to GET, and whether client
      headers to server are authoritative, with the publication of
      Authoritative Metadata[7].
   *  nameSpaceState-48[8]: Adding terms to a namespace, with the
      publication of The Disposition of Names in an XML Namespace[9] and
      an updated namespace policy document[10].

3. Findings

   The TAG approved two findings:

   *  The Rule of Least Power[11] (23 February 2006)
   *  Authoritative Metadata[12] (12 April 2006), an update to the
      previously approved finding of 25 February 2004[13].

   The TAG also published a new draft finding:

   *  State in Web application design[14] (15 February 2006)

4. Upcoming

   The next TAG face-to-face meetings are scheduled for

   *  12-14 June 2006 in Amherst, MA, USA
   *  4-5 October 2006 in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
