Thanks Ivan. Indeed these are part of the goals of the interest group.

What I was trying to grapple with, are the tentative first steps in the 
process.... a realistic and practical value proposition to help 
bootstrap the process of garnering industry support at the senior 
management level.

Yes.. let us wait for more active participation on the group. Will be 
good to circumscribe these first steps clearly, so we can then approach 
the industry (and the industry wings of the academia) with something 
concrete and common to say and ask (for specific contributions).
