Northwind/Pet Store for SW?

Sunday morning musing -

Microsoft used to use a sample DB, Northwind [1] in a lot of its
tutorial material (not sure if it still does, but the data's still
available).

Java EE has the Pet Store application [2] (recently Ajaxed I see) as a
stereotype commercial web app.

I was wondering whether something(s) along these lines might be useful
for SWEO material..?
