otiose vs odious

Just to be clear, since I'm afraid some people didn't catch the
correction, Bijan was calling Tim's spec-stack argument [1] "otiose"
(pointless, superfluous, wasted) [2] not "odious" (abominable,
detestable, execrable) [3].
