Kick-off

Dear SVG Streaming CG participants,

You should have received an email indicating that a first draft report
of this CG has been produced. That email is the result of:
1) me appointing myself as chair of this CG. This was temporary to do
2). Please speak-up if you agree, disagree or if you wish to be
co-chair. Otherwise, the temporary will become permanent.
2) adding an official draft report of this CG. This draft report is the
actual draft I had been editing so far. The idea is to have a document
listed in the current documents of this CG, so that new comers can
review it.

Also, as you may know, the SVG WG Charter has been renewed recently and
the "SVG Streaming" activity is officially in scope of the WG but "if
time permits". The idea I have been discussing with few people
inside/outside the WG is that the work on this activity happens in this
CG so that a) more people with the right expertise can participate and
b) the WG is focused on producing SVG 2. Is everyone in the CG ok with that?

Then, we need to work on the next steps for this CG.

I think the first step should be to attract more people to this group.
This means SVG content producers, browser implementors, SVG editors
implementors, ... If you have any contact, feel free to point them to
the CG page [1] and to ask them to join. If you have any idea on how to
reach them, feel free to say so on this list.

A second step is to gather more use cases. The Graphical Web conference
featured 2 relevant talks [2] and [3]. I've contacted the authors.

A third step is to work on finalizing the draft.

Comments?
