I have not directly used Batik. However, when I've searched for some
special methods that would make svg life easier, Batik appears more
often than not. With all browsers using native SVG, what will be the
future of this wonderous project?

I think Batik includes many fine methods that could be considered in
SVG DOM 2. How could we begin a dialog with the Batik folks to see if
they would like to participate in the APIs for the DOM?  I'm clueless
on the best way to do this.
