Tree of graphic items that need to be accessible

Parts of graphics that need to be exposed to assistive technologies or may need to be navigable are listed below. In this explanation, I am calling anything we want exposed to navigation or assistive technology an item. The items are grouped. Items under the data group represent data. Items under the guide group represent non-data items that provide scale, mark location or add explanation. Items under the region group mark areas on the graphic. Groups are marked as a group and may or may not be abstract. Concrete items have symbols of what type of graphic they appear in following the name. The four types of graphics are graph, map, blueprint/technical drawing and timeline. Decorative grahics are not included. Item is also used as a name of a member of data group - sorry for any confusion. Symbol is a first level guide item, but the page does not show that well. FE
