Re: social new full set ( was: RE: Bassetti slides for AC meeting)

Ann,

Thanks for putting this all together. I think you've done an amazing
job at integrating all the input. I hope we get through the slides
quickly enough so we can actually have some discussion!

I have a few suggestions, which I will insert into email rather than
change the slides so that way we can have a single editor (you) for now.

1. As you go through your slides, we can easily get lost in optimizing
the block diagram in the meeting. I think this would be a distraction
in a large meeting. My recommendation is to use your slides to drive
the following discussion:

  * We are not accepting input on the block diagram in real time. If
people have suggestions they can send email or join the next call on
    the 21st of May.
  * To us, the block diagram is suggestive of potential areas of
standardization (slide 17 is a really nice illustration of that).
If the block diagram stimulates people to tee up proposals for the
task force to look at in our May-July period, people should feel
free to stand up and say so. (I would be happy to "man" a flip
chart and record ideas while you present).

If you agree, you may want to establish these ground rules in the slides
themselves; or you can say so orally.

2. Slide 22 Basis set. In my basis set email, I illustrated the notion
with a straw-man basis set and scenarios. I'm not sure if you felt this
would not be helpful (which would be fine), or if you didn't see the
email (in which case you might want to include the strawman).

3. Slides 28 and 29 are replaced by Slide 30. In the current version,
for some reason I can't launch the page from the ppt. Maybe we should
just embed the picture as you've done for the current slide 29.

Thanks.

Jeff
