Re: Re: Larry Hawes has left the Social Interest Group

Thanks, Harry, but I don't see anything about a 6-month expiration in the W3C Process Document. It says that conditions for Invited Expert (IE) participation in an IG are the same as in a WG, which are listed as:An Invited Expert participates in a Working Group from the moment the individual joins the group until any of the following occurs:
the group closes, or
the Chair or Director withdraws the invitation to participate, or
the individual resigns.

I'm not questioning the W3C's right to terminate participation, much less check if my company wants to become a member. However, there seems to be a discrepancy between the stated processes and what actually occurs. That should be clarified and/or fixed.

So it sounds like I have to reapply for IE status. I'll do that now, but please be sure to check for the application and fast-track its approval. I am still self-employed.

Thanks!

Larry

No worries - it seems that your 6 month invited expert status ran out.

Normally this happens so W3C can check to see if your company wants
membership. However, you are still self-employed?

If so, just re-fill out the IE form and we'll make sure you are back in
the IG ASAP - by next meeting.

 cheers,
