http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=5134 Summary: Digital signature and SML-IF Product: SML Version: FPWD Platform: PC OS/Version: Windows XP Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: Interchange Format AssignedTo: cmsmcq@w3.org ReportedBy: sandygao@ca.ibm.com QAContact: public-sml@w3.org When SML model documents are included in an SML-IF document, they may have associated digital signatures, and these signatures may become invalid if the enclosed documents are altered in certain ways. Should IF impose a requirement that, when documents are included in IF, they never need to be modified in a way not compatible with XML Canonicalization? Or should the above be allowed, and indicate that digital signatures are (should be) generated *after* the modifications are made? Or should IF not view this as a requirement and be silent about it?
