Thanks for getting in touch!! I’m one of the community group members and did some of the IA stuff late in 2018 but have had to take a step back this semester due to teaching commitments…so I think it would be great to have someone take a fresh look at this!

I’m a bit out of the loop with things but if this is something that Jeanne and co think would still be worth looking at then I’m more than happy to have a quick skype call to try and get you up to speed.

Alternatively, Jeanne, is this something that could be put into one of the Tuesday meetings – teaching for me finishes at the start of April and I should be able to get a lot more involved again too.

I wonder if I could help.

I have worked alongside Emma Pratt Richens https://twitter.com/EmmaJ_PR who is one of the central points of contact at the BBC for Accessibility and standards. She brought the Silver Community Group to my attention..

I have moved over to a BA role as a temporary measure but want to keep my hand in IA and Content Strategy and Accessibility.
I could possibly allocate a few hours per week on helping with the site structure, classification, domain and content modeling etc.

I'm the only information architect who is part of the accessibility champions team at the BBC and have always had an interest in process. I don't have an up to date CV but a super quick summary of highlights;

  *   I have been practicing Information Architect and Content Strategist for over 15 years.
  *   I have provided strategy and direction through to full implementation and delivery of digital products for 20 years.
  *   I have trained up senior management and written guidelines in UX, IA, Content Strategy.
  *   I worked on the BBC's first ontology, /programmes
  *   I worked on the BBC's first Domain Driven Design website, BBC Programmes
  *   I worked on the UK's first TV-on-demand service BBC iPlayer.
  *   Extensive experience with metadata, taxonomies, classification, content modeling, domain modeling, and content management systems and content rich / data-driven sites.
  *   Extensive experience with multi-disciplinary teams.
  *   I am a CSM, Certified Scrum Master and practicing it since 2004.
  *   I'm a big fan of standards and have visited W3C for many years already.

Funnily enough, one of the areas I would like to practice more of is writing. Job roles change very quickly in this industry, that demands a constant skills upgrade.
It would be good to discuss what areas of work are required and to see how I could fit in.
