metric spaces for comparable sensor data

Hi all,

If quantitative data of sensors should be published, it would be useful (e.g. for decision support) to provide these data in searchable and interoperable form on the web. Metric spaces are a natural means for this because all elements of a metric space have a well defined distance. So it is possible to sort the search result according to distance (similarity search). Everyone who is interested in interoperable and efficiently searchable quantitative data is invited to join
