federated queries ???

sorry if my question is trivial, but I'm beginner :)

I'm Bassam, software engineer, now I'm preparing master thesis in health
semantic web


I have my medical data (RDF) in virtuoso server and want to link my data to
DOID ontology for diseases,
then make federated SPARQL queries i.e traversal on my data then diseases
ontology:

I need your advices :)
Must I upload the DOID ontology in virtuoso server also? , or not there is
other way to link my data to IRIs of DOID, what you advice me?
