Re: [HCLSIG Demo] Ontowiki as a GUI, SWAN, Neurocommons

Hi Matthias and all,

Let me introduce myself first. My name is Jin-Xia Huang and I'm a PhD student at KAIST, Korea.

We've worked on an IT domain ontology CoreOnto since last year
(http://coreonto.kaist.ac.kr/core_eng/index.asp), now this ontology has more than 30,000 classes,
28,000 instances and even more triples in it.

Now I'm considering about presenting CoreOnto with wiki or anything else, for easy browing (on
web) and collaborative development of ontology. We need to decide which application we should use for
stable service of both browing and editing - and I guess you might have some suggestions for me.

I noticed your demo, and Powl looks powerful for this purpose. But different from your demo, what
I need is a real service for both browing and editing, so a stable ontowiki is requried. Also
CoreOnto has 30K more classes, which is very different from your ontology. I doubt if present Ontowiki
of Powl can handel it well. You know MediaWiki can be also used for OntoWiki just like what DERI
did[1,2], but my doubt on this choice is if its browing and editing powerful enough for developers
who used to use Protege last year.

Well, do you have any other suggestions for me?

Thank you very much,

Jin-Xia Huang
