We very much look forward to working with all of you to applying Semantic Web technologies to improve collaboration, research and development, and innovation adoption in the HealthCare and Life Science communities. We strongly believe that the time is right to develop and apply such technologies in areas that can have great impact on the quality of health and scientific research around the world.

The public-semweb-lifesci@w3.org list will be a public forum for interest group members [2] focused on addressing deliverables defined by the HCLS charter [3]. If you are interested in joining, please follow the instructions [4] outlined on the group home page. A each of us have different backgrounds, please feel free to send email to the list introducing yourself, experience, interests related to this group.

In addition to email, we'd like to schedule regular teleconferences to facilitate addressing the deliverables of the charter. The first teleconference for this group is scheduled for Dec 8, 11AM EST. Teleconference logistics will also be sent in a follow-up email.
