Geonovum testbed reports

Hi all,

This summer in the Geonovum geo4web testbed we had three parties working on the question: "How do the lessons learned [we got from the first testbed phase] meet the constraints (e.g. budgets) and capabilities (e.g. in house know-how) of governmental organizations on the one hand, and of data users on the other?" Their main task was to evaluate and improve the lessons learned from the first testbed phase.

This work is now concluded and we have some new interesting reports published that contain insights relevant to this group. Here they are:

1. Wouter Beek and Laurens van Lieren, Triply: https://github.com/geo4web-testbed/topic1-task1/blob/master/report/main.pdf
They posed as the 'spatial data publisher' and published a lot of data, implementing the lessons learned. Had some interesting insights in efficient querying of spatial linked data, by combining a triple store with GEOS (the backend GIS library used in PostGIS and QGis).

2. Erik Nagelkerke, Spotzi: https://github.com/geo4web-testbed/topic1-task2/blob/master/Application/Report_Spotzi.pdf. Posing as data users they built a web application based on the data served by Triply and data from the first testbed phase. English is not their strong suit but they have some interesting additions to the Lessons Learned.

3. Rob Knapen, Alterra: https://github.com/geo4web-testbed/topic1-task2-alterra/blob/master/report/geo4web_developer_perspective_v0.2.pdf
Also posing as data users, they had a very nice approach using a persona linked to a use case. The whole report is written from the context of the persona, a web developer who wants to build a web application using spatial data, and all the good and bad that happens to him in his attempt to do so.
