issues/questions/discussions arising from subgroup meetings

I am writing particularly to the apparent current chairs of subgroup meetings associated with SDW deliverables.

Please make a habit of bringing questions and issues back to the main group where wider exposure is relevant (and note that there is certainly interest in those deliverables from people who just cannot attend every meeting!).

If you don't do this, then the main group meetings are at risk of becoming a waste of time for all of us. These do not have to be "difficult" issues, and do not have to have gone through the subgroup meeting first (although those that have been discussed in the subgroup may be given priority in a crowded agenda).

I think the best way to get your issues on the agenda is to let both Ed and I know what you think should be done, on a weekly basis, ideally just after the subgroup meeting (and certainly before we set the agenda for the main meeting, which is usually at the Chairs call Monday mornings GMT). An alternative option would be to invite regular participation in the weekly Chairs call, but I think that may be more effort for little return (and normally I expect about 1 or 2 out of Ed, Phil and I will have attended anyway). Let's see how this goes.

In particular, I will be chairing the next whole-group meeting next week and please provide your requests for agenda items to me!
