Hi everybody,

Today is an exciting day for Hydra as the Linked Data Fragments project [1]
will join the Hydra Community Group.

Ruben wrote a little post for our official blog to announce it to the wider
world so I won't rehash it all here:

Both Linked Data Fragment specifications have already been moved into our
GitHub repository [2] and are of course also available on our homepage [3] -
which finally looks a bit nicer now :-)

I'm very excited about this as Linked Data Fragments impressively
demonstrates the power of Hydra. I know of no other approach that is capable
of supporting such sophisticated client-side querying with completely
generic clients. With the new collection design that we discussed over last
couple of weeks, this becomes a very powerful approach that is capable of
splitting the work between the client and the server.

Ruben, who co-created Linked Data Fragments and wrote their specifications,
will lead this effort. It might be that the volume of mails on our mailing
list increases due to this. Thus, we've set up an alias [4] which we will
use in most our public communication for this. If the volume gets too high,
we will turn this alias into a mailing list on its own.

But now it's time to make some buzz on Twitter etc. I'll send out a Tweet
also post an announcement on Google+ [5] in a minute... feel free to
retweet/+1 :-)

Cheers,
Markus
