Re: Meeting agenda for 15 February 2017

Hi all

I have to send regrets again for today’s meeting. I’m not feeling too well.

However, I wanted to make a couple of points for consideration.

* In our review of current work in the area of authentication, I had a recent conversation with someone working in online learning accessibility. One emerging challenge is authentication of test-takers in proctored online exams, where a webcam broadcasts the learner’s image during the test and might place demands on the test-taker to be in or maintain a certain position in order to transmit their image to the proctor. This might present accessibility challenges for a number of users. I’d be keen to follow up to explore more about these types of systems and the challenges they present, but wanted to raise it within the group for discussion.

* A short report on Silver TF progress. The current state is that a list of research questions is being finalised, and a Task force member has been allocated to each researcher willing to contribute. The next step is for each TF member and researcher pair to select research question(s) to tackle, and discuss timing and detail of the research activity that will be carried out to gather data to answer the question.

I’ll be working onsite next Wednesday (22nd) so won’t make that meeting either, but will continue to contribute via email when I can.

Dave
