Invite for the RIF Workshop at RuleML-2009

Dear RIF Colleagues,

As promised in the last RIF telecon
(http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-rif-wg/2009Jul/att-0045/21-rif-m
inutes.html#item07)

here some more information about the RIF workshop at RuleML-2009
(http://2009.ruleml.org) and the Business Rules Forum, November 5-7 2009,
Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Main intention of the RIF workshop is to spread the
word about the new W3C RIF standard in the important business rules
community.

The W3C RIF workshop will take place on Nov. 5th. It will follow the
RuleML-2009 keynote "Bringing Order to Chaos: RIF as the New Standard for
Rule Interchange" by Sandro Hawke. Afterwards, Christian Saint Marie will
open the RIF workshop with a tutorial about RIF PRD. After the tutorial
there will be a standards session and a lunch panel on web rules. The RIF
workshop will continue in the afternoon with a presentation of RIF demos and
implementations as part of the 3rd Int. Rules Challenge. The best RIF demo /
implementation will be awarded with a prestigious prize. As member of the
(remote) jury we would like to invite the RIF editors.

We would like to encourage you to submit a RIF demo to the RIF workshop at
RuleML-2009. Additionally you can submit an optional demo paper describing
your demo. These papers will reviewed and published as CEUR proceedings,
which are publicly listed, e.g. on the DBLP library, and your RIF demo will
be available on our growing highly visible pool of demos on the Rules
Challenge website (http://ruleml-challenge.cs.nccu.edu.tw/). You will
already find some RIF demos in the pool from last year's 2nd Rules Challenge
at RuleML-2008.

The important submission dates are:

September 4th - submission deadline for demo papers and demo systems

September 15th - notification of accepted demo papers and demo systems

October 29th - submission deadline for demo systems only

For further information on the submission please consult the Rules Challenge
website: http://2009.ruleml.org/challenge.

We would like to cordially invite you to participate in RuleML-2009 and help
making the RIF workshop a success within the business rules community.
