Dear RIF Working Group,

This year the International Symposium on Rule Interchange and Applications
(RuleML-2008, http://2008.ruleml.org) had a very strong program with many
highlights and a lot of presentations, keynote talks and demos about W3C

The presentations are linked from the RuleML-2008 program available at

* Four keynotes

  o Paul Haley (Haley Systems, Inc) on "Event and Process Semantics
    will Rule".

  o David Luckham (Stanford University, USA) on "The Power of Events:
    An Introduction to Complex Event Processing in Distributed
    Enterprise Systems".

  o Michael Kifer (State University of New York at Stony Brook), on
    "Rule Interchange Format: The Framework".
     Joint keynote between RuleML-2008 and RR2008.

  o Benjamin Grosof (Vulcan, Inc.) on "Hyper Logic Programs in SILK:
    Redefining the KR Playing Field for Business and VLKB".

* Special Invited Sessions on Rule Standards

    o OMG Production Rule Representation 
    Paul Vincent 

    o RIF Production Rule Dialect
    Christian de Sainte Marie 

    o An SBVR Vocabulary for Date and Time
    Mark Linehan 

* A Joint Lunch Panel on "Rules on the Web" with 125 participants from the
Web Rules and Business Rules community

contributions to your interested colleagues.

Next year, RuleML-2009 (http://2009.ruleml.org) will most likely be in Las
Vegas, beginning of November 2009, co-located again with the Business Rules
