I just saw this extension:

This week's W3C News Wire[1] has been updated to include an extension
for discount hotel rates at the W3C 2006 Technical Plenary Meeting[2]
in Cannes-Mandelieu, France. The deadline[3] has been extended to
6 February 2006.
