The reason I'm asking for clarification from the W3C is that through the
course of this discussion I've been informed that that decision on scope
is not going to be changed through consultation or public debate.

I was asking for clarification because Wendy's post could be taken to
mean the opposite: that the W3C might decide that this work is out of
scope as a result of the consultation and debate.
