I was trying to make the point that human rights are not an agreed
topic, either from a practical perspective, or a philosophical one.

I think that was on-topic for the discussion, since people were citing
human rights as a reason to reject EME.  Personally, although I'm
against EME, I don't buy that argument.  That's probably because of my
position on human rights.
