Call for commitments.

Hey guys,

Before we can put the Use Cases document [1] and `picture` specification [2] up for discussion as a First Public Working Draft, as many of us as possible need to agree to the Final Specification Agreement (FSA).

There’s a detailed overview of what this entails at http://www.w3.org/community/about/agreements/summary/ , but this agreement (based on my reading) essentially says none of us are gonna claim that we own any part of the document(s) and try to sue anyone. If you’re hesitant at all, give http://www.w3.org/community/about/agreements/final/ a read or pass it along to the folks in your organization that handle this sort of thing.

If you’re prepared to agree to the FSA, you’ll want to head to http://www.w3.org/community/respimg/spec/26/commitments and click “[LOGIN AND] MAKE A LICENSING COMMITMENT.”

As a heads-up, these commitments are posted to the respimg mailing list—you’ve probably seen a few come through today. If you don’t want to keep close tabs on all the agreements flying around, you may want to mute/filter any messages with “FSA commitment for Picture Element Proposal Specification” in the subject.

Thanks!
