I've tested it, too, using  http://rdf.greggkellogg.net/distiller and http://www.w3.org/2012/pyRdfa. Both yielded the expected result (according to the spec). Seems to be a bug in Play (already reported here https://github.com/rdfa/rdfa-website/issues/16).
