Re: Introductions

Hi folks,

I'm Ben Adida, co-chair of this WG, but you wouldn't know it since
Manu's been doing such a fantastic job covering for me.

I'm interested in helping people control their lives on the Web. That
includes interoperable web data, but also cryptography, applied
security, and medical informatics. I'm on the Research Faculty at
Harvard Medical School, and I'm the AC Rep for Creative Commons.

I helped get the RDFa effort started at W3C when Creative Commons tasked
me with figuring out how to embed the Creative Commons machine-readable
copyright licenses in HTML, back in early 2004. (Creative Commons had
adopted RDF in 2002.) I chaired the RDF-in-HTML Task Force 2005-now.

I wrote a good portion of the RDFa Primer, contributed to the RDFa
Syntax, and wrote the RDFa JavaScript library and bookmarklets [1] which
I *think* was the first public implementation of an RDFa parser.

Mark credits me with the phrase "bridging the clickable and semantic
Webs," although I'm not sure how that will look on my tombstone.

It looks like we have a whole new crop of amazing RDFa contributors, and
I really look forward to working with all of you, even if most of my
interactions will be asynchronous for the first few months.
