:-)  It would probably be quicker than trying to get hg to work.  But let me see if I can manage with the SourceTree app that Ivan pointed me at (thanks, Ivan) before I get back in my tree.

I guess I don't understand why we need version control *at all* here, never mind which particular VC system. We didnt use it when doing the 2004 specs. None of our documents have many-person teams involved in their creation: we never have to revert: the documents themselves are dated and each has latest- and previous-version links; and there will probably only have been about ten versions of each before LC. I appreciate that those in the WG who use these things on a daily basis find version control natural, but believe me, they are a very steep learning curve for the rest of us, and the fact that this is apparently completely unnecessary does put a little grit into the learning gears.
