Re: [ALL] agenda telecon 14 Dec

Richard

I am tired of having endless arguments with people who simply do not know enough about the matter at hand to know how to use the technical language properly, and resort to ad hominem attacks. These are pale shadows of debates I have been having now for over a quarter of a century, with many people a lot smarter and more informed than you, and I no longer wish to keep going over them again. I do not care what your views are on the primacy of social meaning or the inadequacies of model theory. As far as I can tell, you have no greater claim to authority in these matters than the average undergraduate who thinks they know philosophy because they have opened a book by Nietzsche. Frankly, you bore me.

I do not think that you and I can usefully work together. I have therefore come to the conclusion that the business of the WG will proceed better if I simply resign and let others decide how best to rewrite the semantics of RDF. No doubt it will eventually come to be as lucidly clear as SPARQL and RIF, and you will be in a better shape to deal with your tasks at hand, which I am sure are terribly important.

I will resign from the WG as of today.

Best wishes

Pat
