Introductions

Role: Primary representative for DERI Galway

I'm a post-doctoral researcher in DERI, working in the Social Semantic
Web area.
I did my PhD in Université Paris-Sorbonne, focusing on enabling
Semantic Web technologies for Enterprise 2.0 environments (related
SWEO use-case at [1]).
I'm a co-author of SIOC [2], MOAT [3] and designed various
applications based on triple-store engines, e.g. doapstore [4], SMOB
[5].
I tried various engines (mainly 3store, ARC2 and Virtuoso) and in most
of these applications, I used non-standard features of SPARQL, either
build directly in the engine, and hacked on purpose, from aggregate
functions to on-demand inferencing.

My goal within this WG is to bring a "end-user" prespective, as well
as trying to focus on features that can be easilly implemented and
could bring SPARQL to a more complete query language for the SW, while
keeping the 18 months schedule in mind.

It's my first time in a W3C WG, while I've been already involved in
other activites (Member Submissions).

E-mail is the best way to contact me, I'm also sometimes on #swig,
nickname 'terraces'

Best,

Alex.
