Come to think of it, I find the current way of doing this aesthetically 
displeasing. Also, you can't address the data in the XML Literal with e.g. 
XPath, can you? In that case, it is something that I would find pragmatically 
more important than XML Schema validation.

However, I have had no practical need for it so far, and I'm not ready to 
devote any time to it. But perhaps we should let the original submitter have 
a chance to argue for it a little further?
