Quick note on charter schedule: We need a FPWD ASAP

Everyone,

Quick note - even given the 3 month extension I asked for, based on the
original charter we were supposed to get a working draft of the
language by June. It's nearly the end of August, so I recommend in
order not to fall behind too much further, we aim for getting a FPWD by
Sept. So I strongly support Souri make his proposal into a draft.

We also will need at least one, possibly two, co-editors. It may be useful
if these editors were also planning an implementation.

However, what would be ideal would be if that proposal could be more
clearly related to the previous semantics in Datalog/RIF Core given by
Marcelo/Juan as well as the direct mapping proposal of EricP. I'd prefer
it if EricP's work could be merged as a "default" mode (i.e. no
<SQLDefString>) of Souri's work.

I'd like to have the FPWD be a declarative guide to the language (ideally
aimed at implementers and users from both SQL and RDF background). The
formal semantics could be a separate document or we could try to merge it
into a single document.

While I'll have to miss today's telecons, I volunteer to help set up CVS
and W3C document (we could use either XMLSpec or wiki templates) to get
the FPWD off the ground if we get consensus from the editor.

                cheers,
                      harry
