AW: AW: RAX Position Paper

Hi Felix and Jose Labra,

Thanks a lot for your contributions.

It is obvious that this paper is a group effort. So I would add a section “Acknowledgments” with a reference to the group and a link to its members.
As authors, I would only mention those who have written text in the paper itself.

With respect to technology and tools etc. I would mention these things where it directly supports the narrative of the paper and make link in a footnote for further details. So really just mentioning, e.g. when we say that we have already tried something out or we list different approaches etc.

I will work further on the paper tomorrow, once your contributions are final.

Best
Christian

Dear Jose, all,

2017-07-18 22:24 GMT+02:00 Jose Emilio Labra Gayo <jelabra@gmail.com<mailto:jelabra@gmail.com>>:
I started to convert the contents in the Google doc to LaTeX.
I used Overleaf as it can be collaboratively edited.
The following link to current draft is here, and I think that if you have that link you can edit it:

https://www.overleaf.com/10362311mfbjhrvrgjmb

There is also a git repository in case you prefer to edit it offline.

https://git.overleaf.com/10362311mfbjhrvrgjmb

If you prefer to continue editing in the Google Doc, I would ask you to mark the new content so I can change it easily in the Latex...of course, if you can use LaTeX, it would be easier.

I will use Latex for further edits. I will do editing tonight.

I have doubts with the list of authors and institutions...I added 4 authors as a test...(please forgive me the other members of the group that I didn't add...). I really don't know what is the best way to proceed about authorship here.

Christian, what is your view as a co-chair of the group no this?

About the contents...we should probably add some content because at this moment it is quite general...the problem that I can see is that if we start adding approaches or technologies, then the paper would automatically grow in size...while if we try to keep it simple and just add a few, then it would be unfair for the technologies that we don't mention...

Indeed. What do others think on this?

Best,

Felix

I have a travel tomorrow and will probably not be able to work more on this. On thursday morning I could probably work a little bit more.
Best regards, Jose Labra

Hi all,

I started to extend the google docs based on what this available. Christian, all, would that may be sufficient as a first draft? Please feel free to edit my text as you like, nothing is set in stone.

Who would do the actual submission?

Best,

Felix

Dear all,

Thanks Jose Labra for this preparation and for your availability to transform the final version in the right format.

I just made a first try on certain parts of the document.
Please have a look asap and note your name behind the sections you want to work on more detail.
Is it possible to have a first draft in place by tomorrow EOB?

Thanks and best
Christian

I created a possible google doc with the proposed contents:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1KAUawomGOeADfvL2CjaL2g3uqvOKuA9z-D43xTRpKnc/edit?usp=sharing

If you want fill it with the contents, I can convert that to a LaTeX file following the conference format.

I didn't reply first because I have an academic role working for the University of Oviedo.

Anyway, I could also help if you want. Should we start preparing a collaborative place where we could edit the document? Something like Overleaf or ShareLaTeX, or just Google Doc?

Best regards, Jose Labra

Hello Christian and Christopher,

I am happy to contribute as well. Someone has to provide a first draft and others fill in. Who would like to make a start? The structure from Christian

Thesis (the one above)
Motivation (problem statements)
State of the Art
Approaches and outlook

is fine by me.

Dear Christoph,

I am available to contribute my share.
If we are a team of 3, I think we could make it.
How do we split the effort. Can we use the structure I developed?

Please advise.

Dear Christian, dear all,

well, maybe there are resources to get the two-pager done by 20th. Felix would be available, I would as well (from tomorrow afternoon), if you were available you would even be able to represent one sector of industry. How much substantial details from industry do we expect on 2 pages anyway? Shouldn't we just draft something and ask our busy industry colleagues for some last minute input?

Cheers,

Christoph
