AW: RAX Call today - credentials

Dear all,

here is the protocol from today’s call.

Please feel free to comment.

Participants:
Christian
Martynas
Sergey

Topic: plan for 2017
we need to produce a deliverable
this should be a best practice document, so not so much a technical description
it should cover the core process we have identified so far
this is the transformation process from XML to RDF and back
We agree that XSLT needs to be in the core of this description, because it is widely used
A lot of material is already collected by the group, but we need to put it into a structure
Action point for the chairs: develop a draft structure for the document
we could use w3c/respec for the writing process
Martynas will also share links how to efficiently do the publishing
Action point for all: list relevant conferences (mainly industry, but also academic), where our topics are covered
we will then decide where to participate and have e.g. a poster to do dissemination and promotion of our group more intensively
One example would be SEMANTiCS in Amsterdam, but also XML Conference in London
Next call will be in January - probably not 6th, since this is a public holiday in some countries

Actions points:
Chairs: develop document structure for deliverable
Martynas: send links to publishing procedure
All: Send info on relevant industry and academic events in 2017

Best
Christian

Hey all,

some links from todays call:

Example of Best Practices document: https://www.w3.org/TR/dwbp/

ReSpec -- a tool for editing W3C-like specifications: https://github.com/w3c/respec

Publishing HTML with GitHub Pages: https://pages.github.com

The CG already has a GitHub account: https://github.com/rax-cg

For the document, we probably need a new repository, for example best-practices.
Then using GitHub Pages, HTML would be available as http://rax-cg.github.io/best-practices

Happy holidays.

Dear RAX group,

today GoToMeeting is not available.
I hope that Skype for Business also works.
Just click on the link below or call the number.
The Link “Weitere Rufnummern suchen” means that you will get a list of local dial-ins.
“Konferenzkennung” means the conference code you need once you dialed-in.

The agenda for today is as indicated in my last mail:
“The topics to be discussed will be the action points from last call, a short wrap up of 2016 and hopefully also a first outlook to 2017.”

I hope to talk to you this afternoon.

For the others, who can’t make it, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and very much hope that we will talk again in 2017.

Best
Christian
