I was pointing out that by definition, data() applied to an element annotated as xs:anyType returns untypedAtomic. You, I think, are saying that if all you know about a value V is that it satisfies element(*,xs:anyType), then all you know about data(V) is that it satisfies xs:anyAtomicType*. Both correct.
