Regrets, climbing week.

I am still concerned by the loss of any epub:type equivalent functionality for structural semantics in WP.

Besides workflows, it is an accessibility feature as structural semantics helps crosscheck ARIA role values.

For instance, what makes a role="doc-chapter" valid on a section tag if that tag doesn’t yield any new chapter structure information?
Not all sections are chapters…

Best,
Luc

Hello PWG Folks,

Below is the draft agenda for next week's WG conference call, to be held at the usual day and time [0].

We have switched from WebEx to GoToMeeting! Here's the page for the new dial-in information<https://www.w3.org/publishing/groups/publ-wg/Meetings/gotomeetings> [1].

If you are new to this group, learn the tricks on the newbie page<https://www.w3.org/publishing/groups/publ-wg/WorkMode/newbie> [2]. See also the Publishing WG home page<https://www.w3.org/publishing/groups/publ-wg/> [3].

Please let us know if you are able to scribe. Please join the call via GoToMeeting [1] and join IRC [13] for live chat & minutes (IRC channel #pwg).

Agenda:

  *   Approve minutes [4]
  * TPAC registration (Oct 22-26; Lyon, France) [5]
  * Proposal: since there are no implementations of epub:type other than internal workflows (beyond those [e.g., noteref, footnote] with solid ARIA mappings), do not move forward with broad replacements for epub:type
  *   Affordances review/status/discussion/guilt [6]
  * Approach for external metadata, privacy policy, A11Y declarations, cover, et al [7]
  * Bike-shedding on terms TOC, and perhaps those just above (now that we've settled on "readingOrder" and "resources")
  * [Place holder] List of Issues to raise with Dan Brickley re schema.org<http://schema.org> usage
