Of course we can change the name, but I don't see what confusion there 
is.  Where did we mention start of an event?
This is not really meaningful in this context.

Ultimately, underpinning prov-dm is a notion of interval, for entities 
and for activities.
I think it's important for prov-dm to have construct to explain what 
brings them about. Hence the requirement for starting/ending activities.

There is nothing in the model related to paused/unpause state, activity 
rate, etc. They can be introduced with application specific attributes,
and specialisation of wasAssociatedWith.
