Tabels (a tool to bridge the gap between shapefiles and linked data) is online

Dear all,

We are happy to announce the release of Tabels [1].

Tabels is a tool aiming to bridge the gap between tabular format
and linked data. Beyond the support of common tabular and
statistical formats and beyond that, Tabels is also able to process
the tabular part of shapefiles, taking into account the geometry and style
associated to each feature.

In addition, Tabels is more than a transformation tool, being geared
with data-sensitive front-end widgets to facilitate end users
in exploitation and exploration of data. For example, the transformed
version of the shapefile can be visualized as a interactive web map,
complemented by faceted views and a sparql endpoint. Take a look
at [2], a project abouth the representation of the botanic flora
of a Spanish region.

Please give Tabels a try on our online demo service and
tell us about your experience. Any feedback is more than welcome.

Cheers,

Guillermo González-Moriyón
