Re: [Agenda] W3C POE WG - Teleconference 13 MARCH 2017

Attached is my revised version of the internationalization checklist.

I have tried to indicate that: 1. POE requires UTF-8 encoding, as we discussed on Monday. 2. IRIs are always used. 3. Dates and times are specified using xsd:date and xsd:dateTime.

The only questions I had were whether we wanted to enable “culturally-specific” definitions of weeks (p. 23, “Working with Time”).

Also, in 4.20.13, we say that the language can be used to specify the language of an asset after translation. Don’t we need to be able to specify the language before translation, as well?

What about saying: it is prohibited to translate the Greek portions of this text into Spanish, but it is required to translate the German parts of this text into Spanish? (ie. For a text about Greek texts that is in German, and for which I want a Spanish translation?)

Attached please find my attempt to complete the Internationalization Survey re: POE.

One thing that comes to mind immediately is that it would be very helpful for policies to include a free text description of their intent.
