Re: Question about ontology

Part-of seems wrong for the relationship between full-bottle and
liquid, as liquids are commonly known to be IN a bottle, not part-of a
bottle. As I use a grammatically-oriented ontology, here's where I go:

First identify the local ontology:

Adjective:Nonempty is:an
Adjective.
Adjective:Empty is:an Adjective.
Adjective:Empty
owl:complementOf Adjective:Nonempty.
Property:is:a rdfs:subPropertyOf
rdf:type.
Property:is:from is:a owl:ObjectProperty.
Property:is:in is:a
owl:ObjectProperty.
Property:is:in owl:inverseOf
Property:is:of.
Property:is:of is:a
owl:ObjectProperty.
Property:is:through is:a
owl:ObjectProperty.
Property:is:to is:a
owl:ObjectProperty.
Property:has:this is:a
owl:ObjectProperty.
Type:Bottle is:a Type:Resource.
Type:Liquid is:a
Type:Resource.
Type:FullBottle is:of (Type:Bottle, Adjective:Nonempty,
Type:Liquid).
Type:EmptyBottle is:of (Type:Bottle,
Adjective:Empty).
Type:FullBottle is:through Process:Bottling.

Process:Bottling is:a Process.
Process:Bottling is:from
Type:EmptyBottle.
Process:Bottling is:to
Type:FullBottle.
Process:Bottling has:this Step:Bottling Step
1
Process:Bottling has:this Step:Bottling Step 2

Now identify instances
and relations of various things:

Bottle:1459 is:a
Type:FullBottle.
Liquid:1459 is:a Type:Liquid.
Liquid:1459 is:in
Bottle:1459. (Bottle:1459 is:of Liquid:1459.)
Bottle:1459 has:this
Event:1459.
Event:1459 is:per Process:Bottling.
Event:1459 is:with
(Bottle:1459, Liquid:1459).
