Post: Research Associate (Full-time, Fixed-term)

The South East European Research Centre is an international,
multidisciplinany, non-for-profit research centre established jointly by the
University of Sheffield (UK) and CITY College (Greece) in Thessaloniki,
Greece. SEERC invites applications for one Research Associate position to
work on the newly initiated FP7-funded research project OrganiK
(http://www.organik-project.eu). 

The principal task of the postholder will be to assist in the specification
of the OrganiK KM system architecture and undertake research and development
for some of its server-side software components. Experience in Web
programming and familiarisation with core Semantic Web technologies are
considered essential. Understanding of basic principles in Knowledge
Management or experience with EU-funded research project procedures would be
desirable. Applicants should hold a good postgraduate degree (or equivalent
experience) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related
discipline.

The successful candidate will be working within the Information and
Knowledge Management research cluster at SEERC and will be based in
Thessaloniki, Greece, on a full-time basis. Fluency in English is a
prerequisite, while understanding of the Greek language would be an
advantage. This post is fixed-term, tenable immediately, and ending in
September 2010. Applications will be accepted until the post is filled. The
salary will be commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications
