Re: OStatus and webfinger vs swd

Ostatus (but also other community initiatives in the area of fsw) have been using (meaning implementing, testing & validating) webfinger for years now and it would be indeed a pity to throw away this work. That said, the 'ietf' webfinger may be a good momentum for cleaning up/improving the original community spec with future proof features & the feedback gathered over the last years.

I agree that anyway all the current fsw initiatives should align with the solution that will be adopted in ietf (wf or swd) to limit fragmentation.
