RE: ORTC specification repo final home

We should probably rename “ortc.html” to “legacy_ortc.html” or just delete it entirely, or make the title of that spec “LEGACY ORTC SPEC” or something.

Otherwise I can see mistakes are likely :)

Within the newly relocated github repo, the latest version of the “contiguous mode” ORTC API specification is now contained within the index.html file (rather than in ortc.html where it resided previously).

So if you are submitting Pull Requests, please make changes to the index.html file rather than ortc.html.

Even though it will no longer be maintained, we are keeping the ortc.html file around for the sake of comparison, in case we discover issues in the “contiguous mode” conversion. Since the conversion introduced hundreds of changes into the document (many applied manually) it is possible that some inadvertent changes were introduced.

Subject: ORTC specification repo final home

The ORTC Community Group specification repo has been moved to its final home here:
https://github.com/w3c/ortc

Many thanks to the W3C for giving the ORTC Community Groups a home within the W3C github organization, which is open to all community groups (as I understand).

FYI - Moving the specification into the W3C github repo does not imply any change in the status of the ORTC CG or the ORTC API specification. WEBRTC 1.0 remains on the standards track within WEBRTC WG and ORTC remains a Community Group effort.

Robin
ORTC CG Specification Editor
