Web standards, Openness and Transparency

Hi All,

First, a big thanks to the folks that supported the creation of this group!

I think this group can provide a useful venue for Consortium members and
participants to highlight and to provide education and outreach
regarding the areas where the Consortium is open and transparent to
non-members (aka the "Public"). Likewise, I think it can also be a place
for non-members to provide feedback on ways the Consortium can improve
in these areas, as well as to provide feedback on other topics included
in the first entry in the group's home page [1].

Next, thanks to Doug for bootstrapping the group's wiki! His documents
highlight areas where the Consortium's work is mostly open and
transparent yet could be improved [2]. I expanded on this document by
identifying areas where the Consortium already has good Public
collaboration. Everyone should feel free to update this document as well
as all of its sub-resources (and of course please feel free to also
create new sub-resources).

Lastly, rather than a short introduction, if you'd like to learn a bit
about me regarding my interest in open Web standards, please see [3] (my
"Advisory Board nomination statement"). Everyone should feel free to
send a short introduction to this list (and please do include your
area(s) of interest vis-à-vis the group's scope).

-Thanks, AB
