Kick-off Meeting

Dear all,

First of all, thanks for joining the W3C OpenTrack Community Group. We are
only seven people, but I suppose more participants will join us. The
positive thing is that most of us are aware of the main objectives we want
to achieve through this group.

As you've sen, the group is already launched, Also, I've been setting up
most of the tools we will use. As a reminder:
- The main page for the Comunity Group [1]. We all can post on the blog.
- The mailing list for main communications [2] (public-opentrack@w3.org).
- Github as main repository for code and documents [3], also for tracking
issues.
- IRC Channel [4] for instant messaging. I know :-), old fashioned, but
highly effective.
- WebEx for teleconferences.

Andy Robinson, the driven force and alma mater behind OpenTrack, appointed
me as Chair. I'm glad to act as Chair but we should follow the process,
opening the possibility to other candidates. In case you want to be chair,
just let us know.

I propose having a kick off meeting to start the project and discuss
anything we want about scope, governance and other things. I've opened a
doodle to check your availability, so please fill in the form [5]. I'll
send you the agenda a few days in advance, with information about the call.

The objective for this first meeting to review and launch the charter that
will define the objectives and scope of this group. Find an early version
at [6].

I'm already drafting a proposal (on Github) of what would be the first
deliverable, the OpenTrack abstract model. I'll comment more about this in
a few days.
