ODRL is coming back!

Dear ODRL Community, this month will see the final review of the ODRL Version 2.2 specs [1][2] and adoption as formal W3C Recommendations.
(This has been a long, turbulent, but overall, rewarding 17 year journey for our favourite language!)

For the past 2 years, ODRL has been well looked after by the W3C POE Working Group [3] which will shortly cease operations as the WG has delivered on its Charter.

As we now move forward, we plan to move “business-as-usual” operations back to the ODRL Community Group.

Specifically, we will:
1 - Promote ODRL V2.2 to existing and new sectors/industries
2 - Nurture an ODRL implementors community
3 - Support development of ODRL Profiles (and host for smaller communities)
4 - Register ODRL Profiles
5 - Collaborate with W3C on ODRL errata maintenance
6 - Plan for future major enhancements to ODRL (V3.0)

This is an ambitious scope of work, and we hope all CG members will support this new work plan.
(Feel free to send in your comments/views/suggestions to the group.)

To assist in the execution of the plan, we propose to add 2 new co-chairs to the CG.
(Please think of any nominations, and send direct to me.)

To kick start, we plan to have a teleconference in March. We will send more details soon.

Cheers...
Renato Iannella
Chair, W3C ODRL Community Group
