Agriculture Community Group created

The Agriculture Community Group has been launched:
  http://www.w3.org/community/agri/

--------------------------------------------------

The initial mission of the Agriculture Community Group is to gather and
categorise existing user scenarios, which use Web APIs and services, in
the agriculture industry from around the world, and to serve as a portal
which helps both web developers and agricultural stakeholders create
smarter devices, Web applications & services, and to provide bird's
eye view map of this domain which enables W3C and other SDOs to find
overlaps and gaps of user scenarios and the Open Web Platform.

We'll try to collect facts and knowledge from around the world through
crowd-sourcing, while, at the same time, build a scaffold for it by
quickly gathering key topics from Japanese agricultural stakeholders.
Smart Platform Forum supports this early stages by connecting relevant
stakeholders in Japan and organising face-to-face meetings if needed to
proceed faster.

This group will not publish specifications.
