Test files are also needed and used for MusicXML players!
Making test files observe this: Notes in the test case makes it possible 
to compare the sound. Different notes
e.g. C-D-E-F-G-A-H etc. makes it easier to compare the output. For 
example having a test case with voltas - if
all notes are the same, you may play the wrong volta and still get same 
output.
